We have a problem here in the house. We have 2 digital cameras here but Daddy takes both of them to work with him everyday, so he can take pictures of his shop for whatever reason. He’s offered to leave me one here, but of course it’s not the really good camera, it’s the lesser of the two. Being the immature brat that I am do not appreciate always getting second best, even if second best is pretty darn good, so I refuse to use this “crap” camera. Hence no pictures of our kids, and no updates on the website. So I need everyone’s help to convince Daddy to leave me the GOOD camera so I can take pictures of the kids and hopefully he can do some updates. This site has become very boring nowadays, but if he hears it from you guys he might give in. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!

No birthday party
January 25, 2007OK so I guess it doesn’t make sense to have a party and blow all that money for a child who doesn’t really understand what it’s all about. So we’ve decided to suspend birthday parties til Matthew’s about 5 years old, when he has some school chums and when the kids will be old enough that the parents can just drop them off and not feel like they have to stay to protect their kids. Honestly our house really is too small for all the kids and adults so we gotta make some sacrifices. And really it was Mommy who wanted a party, not Matthew. But we will have a cake on his birthday so we can sing him the Happy Birthday song and he can blow out the candles. And so I can start practicing making cakes for when he has real parties again.

When one sleeps the other doesn’t
January 17, 2007Aaarrrggghhh!!! Maya did so well last night sleeping pretty much all night long. And in her crib no less. So you’d think Mommy would be all rested right? Hell no! Cuz Matthew decided he was feeling “yucky” and wanted Mommy last night. Then he decided at 4 am that he was done sleeping so after him tossing and turning for an hour and a half I gave up and we went to watch Toy Story. Why can’t these two get it together and sleep…AT THE SAME TIME? Is this what’s known as Murphy’s Law? If so, I think Mr. Murphy needs a swift kick in the nuts!

Birthday dilemma
January 8, 2007Honest opinions needed here folks! Matthew’s birthday is coming up (February 12th) and Chris and I are disagreeing as to how to handle the festivities. We’ve had each birthday party so far at an indoor playcentre. It’s great cuz there’s no mess at our own house to clean up, the kids have a blast playing with all the toys, it’s big enough to house all of our extended family and our friends, and with the 2-hour time limit on the place we don’t have a ton of people to entertain at our house for a whole day (sounds bitchy I know and I don’t mean it the way it sounds). The downside is that it costs about $250. I think that’s ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a 3-yr-old’s birthday party, especially when he could care less. This is the route Chris wants to go, but I really really want to have a small party for him at our house. For some weird reason I want to be the one to bake and decorate a cake (despite never having done this before but my Mom always did it for us so I’d like to do it for my Baby Shmear), and I’m dying to decorate the house in balloons and streamers. Yes I’d have to clean up afterwards, but I have to clean the darn house everyday anyways so what’s the problem? The downside to having it at home, in addition to the cleanup, is that our house isn’t all that big. If we were to invite all our family and friends and possibly all of Matthew’s daycare buddies there’s no way they’d fit in our house. And since everyone is still fairly young I know all the parents would want to stay with their kiddies instead of dropping them off for a few hours. Hmmm, what do we do?

Re: Christmas update pictures. Please be advised…
January 6, 2007that some objects shown are not as large or as flabby or as droopy as they appear! However our carpet is as bad as it looks (damn black socks on light beige carpet!).
