Baby Scrooge

My little darling woke up in a bad mood on Christmas morning (at 10:30 am nonetheless!!!) and refused to go downstairs to open his Christmas presents! After we carried his little butt downstairs kicking and screaming, he still wasn’t interested in opening presents, so we had to do it ourselves again this year. Mind you he got into the Christmas spirit a little more once he saw the first toy emerge from the wrapping paper, but he still refused to unwrap anything himself. Sheesh! What’s wrong with this kid?

He got a pretty good haul this year – lots of craft stuff (I’ll have to make a craft tub to store all his things now), Play-Doh, tub toys, colouring books and story books, tons of clothes and a train table and train set. Lots of new stuff for Mommy…er Matthew…to play with! Thanks Santa!

Dream a little dream of me

Matthew now talks in his sleep. The only intelligible things he says though are people’s names.

Last night he said “Mommy” a couple of times, which of course woke me up but I lay there in bed to hear if he was just talking in his sleep or if there was a problem. After the third “Mommy” I went in to check on him. He heard me come in, starts to whine “Mommy” and stood up with his arms up in the air for me to pick him up. Then he says “dordy” (story). Yeah right, it’s 3 am! I just rocked him for about 3 minutes and he went right back to sleep. It’s nice to know he thinks of me even in his sleep!

Hey Matthew, we had a deal about poopy diapers!

Since I’ve been back to work full-time/4 days a week (however you look at it), the number of poopy diapers we’ve had to deal with has diminished greatly. Our son craps up to 4 times a day, and usually gets it all out of his system by the time we get him home around 5 pm. But on weekends he limits himself to 1 poop/day.

However it appears he’s been saving some for me cuz Friday I had to deal with 3 poopy diapers. Now it could be considered only 2 since the second poop was very small and was followed by a larger 3rd poop within 5 minutes, so I’m thinking I jumped the gun on the second one and ended up creating more work for myself by splitting it up into multiple diaper changes.

It still stand though that Baby Shmear has renegged (sp?) on the deal.
